The effect of mental training strategy on geography course achievement and development of divergent thinking among literary fifth grade students
Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Shenjar
Research Summary:
The present research aims to identify the effect of the strategy of mental training in the collection of geography, and the development of reflective thinking among fifth grade students. To achieve this goal, the researcher developed the following two zero hypotheses:
1 – There is no statistically significant difference at the level of (0,05) between the average score of the experimental group that was studied according to the strategy of mental training, and the average score of students of the control group, which was studied according to the traditional method in the achievement test.
2 – There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average score of the experimental group that was studied according to the strategy of mental training, and the average score of students of the control group studied according to the traditional method in the test of thinking backward.
To achieve the objective of the research, the researcher followed the procedures of the partial experimental experimental method. The sample consisted of (60) students with 30 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group. The two groups were rewarded in the variables of life time and educational achievement of the parents, The Fourth Literary
The researcher applied the achievement test as well as the test of the reflection on the two groups
The researcher used the following statistical means
(TEST for two independent samples, the coefficient of difficulty coefficient, the coefficient of discrimination, the coefficient of the effectiveness of the alternatives, the Pearson correlation coefficient, and the alpha-Cronbach equation)
The study found that the experimental group, which studied the mental training strategy, was superior to the control group, which was studied according to the traditional method in the achievement test. The experimental group that studied the mental training strategy was also superior to the control group, which was studied according to the traditional way of thinking of the backward thinking.
In light of the results of this research, the researcher reached the following conclusions:
1 – The results of the research showed a positive effect of the strategy (mental training) in the achievement test and reflective thinking of the fifth grade literary (research sample).
In light of the research results, the researcher recommends the following:
1- The Ministry of Education should pay attention to modern teaching methods.
In order to complete this research, the researcher developed several proposals, including:
1 – Conducting a study aimed at identifying the effect of strategy (mental training) on achievement and reflection of students of geographical departments in the faculties of education.
