Abstract
The objective of the research is to identify the role of educational institutions (family, school, university) in the development of intellectual security against extremist ideas in the light of the challenges of the age. This study was conducted in Iraq in 2017. In view of the nature of the study,
- The concern for intellectual security has not reached the required level or expected, and has not yet been used effectively to serve young people to be immunized to fight extremist ideas in reality.
- The lack of attention to intellectual security is due to the underestimation of workers in educational institutions. To date, youth energies have not been directed towards specialized educational and recreational institutions.
3.There is a great disparity between the educational institutions (family, school, university) in enhancing intellectual security to serve the reality, and no information was provided so that the sources available to each student is known.
The study recommended the following recommendations:

- 1. To enable faculty members to do their part in guiding young people towards sound and safe ideas, to deal with the requirements of the stage in order to enhance intellectual security.
- 2. Preparation of scientific and practical strategies and plans in the application of intellectual security in educational institutions through the amendment of educational materials taught in educational institutions
